For the past three decades, the Max Stores chain has been synonymous with high standards for seeking toys and books for children. Their core philosophy revolves around the conviction that combining toys and books is ideal for fostering children’s imagination and taking them on magical journeys. Since its inception in 1992 with the first store in Moschato suburb of Athens, Max Stores has been renowned for its diverse selection of books and school supplies. Over the years, they expanded their range to include toys, seasonal items, and electronics, offering quality, elegant, and budget-friendly products. Today, Max Stores proudly operates ten outlets, including the most recent addition, a sprawling 3,000 sq.m. store in Glyfada that welcomed customers just before the close of 2023.
The recently inaugurated Glyfada store showcases a revamped bookstore on the third floor, offering recommendations tailored to all age groups. Notably, the bookstore boasts an extensive collection of foreign-language titles catering to children and adults.
Max Stores Glyfada presents a diverse collection of over 10,000 book titles, including an impressive selection of over 1,500 titles in various languages. Although most of them are in English, the store also offers options in French and German. “The essence of Max Stores lies in being a dynamically curated bookstore, offering an extensive variety of titles. Yet, what truly distinguishes us goes beyond the titles – it’s our philosophy, knowledge, and profound respect for the world of books,” the Max Stores team emphasized.
Just as the store is a haven for children, the bookstore section follows suit. Here, you’ll find a rich assortment of foreign-language titles featuring cherished characters such as Pip and Posy, Bluey, Peppa Pig, Dog Man, Percy Jackson, and acclaimed children’s authors like Julia Donaldson, Oliver Jeffers and Roald Dahl.
The store ensures a holistic experience for children and teenagers centered around their favourite characters. In particular, they offer thematic displays featuring each beloved character. For example, the adorable, hungry caterpillar from Eric Carle is not only found in classic books but also in various formats such as activities, book games and editions for babies and preschool-aged children for learning numbers. Harry Potter also holds a special place in the bookstore, with editions in English, French, and German, along with all the special MinaLima editions known for their unique designs. Additionally, they showcase the complete Harry Potter collections from the Hogwarts schools.
