Beach of the week: Lagonisi – Heaven
The beach bar that used to exist on the beach has been closed and the beautiful creek with the deep blue waters and plenty of sand has been transformed into an idyllic unorganized beach, ideal for enjoying a wonderful day at the sea: this is Heaven beach in Lagonisi.

Right after the Grand Resort in Lagonisi, you will come across a large beach, known as “Heaven” because of the beach bar that was there until the summer of 2022. The beach bar is no longer operating, so you should know that the beach is unorganized and has plenty of space to spread your towel and enjoy the sun.
On the left side of the beach, there are some rocks, as well as small boats that create an island-like vibe. In the middle of the beach, you will find some umbrellas under which you can enjoy the shade and take a breath of fresh air. Make sure to have brought the necessities with you (water, snacks, etc.). Additionally, there is plenty of space to play rackets, while the crystal-clear waters will keep you inside for a long time and you can swim deep.
Access to the beach
To get there, you will need about half an hour of driving by car from Glyfada, and right behind the beach, you will find a small parking area to park. Note that on weekends, you may not find a spot there, so keep in mind that you can pass through that point under the coastal road (there is an underground passage), find yourself on the opposite side, and park your vehicle there. If you are coming by car from the north, a good option is to come from Kalivia Thorikou, as there is a road that leads you directly to the beach.
Alternatively, you can take bus 122, which starts from the Agia Paraskevi metro station and stops very close to the beach (Pefko stop).
The nearby taverns for food after a swim
Since you are in Lagonisi, you must eat at “Kalamia,” which is one of the most historic taverns in Attica, serving since 1947. Alternatively, you can stop in Vouliagmeni for souvlaki at “Zahos” or for ice cream – as the area is known for its waffles and ice cream. However, if you choose to leave through Kalivia, then stop at “Christoforos” for the most satisfying portions.
