Where else can you enjoy your breakfast in a real, functional orchard? Based on the free range eggs offered by the chickens you will see enjoying the sun among the plots, Perivoli’s breakfast menu has an array of tasty, filling and healthy dishes: Kagianas, the Greek version of shakshuka made with sauce from theis summer tomatoes, and artigianal feta from Euvoia island, herb omelet, eggs sunny side up served on toasted sourdough bread, scrambled eggs with sauteed greens freshy picked like they do in the Epirus mountains. But also yummy French toast with bergamot mousse, banana-oat pancakes with walnuts and honey from their hives, homemade granola served with Greek yoghurt from a local monastery.
Brunch at Perivoli is dreamy all year round, but in the fall the senses are heightened with the changing colors of the falling leaves, the stillness in the atmosphere, and the smell of wet earth, making you feel you visited a faraway village, although you are just eight minutes away from the busting center of Glyfada.
You wander around the cobblestone paths, and are filled with vital energy from the lush vegetable plots. What was once a barren land, has now become a bountiful orchard thanks to the principles of Permaculture (a regenerative farming practice relying on seasonality, zero waste and minimal interference with nature’s rhythms).
When you finish your scenic stroll, you may enjoy your homey brunch under the pergola close to the plots, or inside, by the comforting heat of the wood stove, enjoying the view from the conservatory, a steaming cup of coffee or traditional herbal tea in hand.
