Approximately 20-50 minutes away from the center of Athens (by car, without much traffic), the beaches in the southern suburbs of Attica, in the area called the Athens Riviera, are a must-see destination. Many of these beaches can be easily accessed by public transport (tram or bus), while the beach bars provide you with everything you need for an all-day getaway.
Extra tip: As most Athenians rush to the beach during the weekends, go on a weekday to enjoy the experience to the fullest.
