Renewed and with a touch of luxury, the Athenian Riviera seems to be ready to welcome the summer season that is just around the corner, with new, highly anticipated tourist facilities that have monopolized the interest of the domestic real estate and investments in the previous period, whether they are already in operation or making their debut in the immediate future. In a more premium version, the Athenian Riviera and the entrepreneurs are ambitious to become a magnet for foreign visitors seeking high-end services, as well as Greeks who want to enjoy a different experience within Athens.
Among the most “noteworthy” arrivals along the coastal front, the luxurious resort with a price of 22,500 euros per night – average price per overnight stay – One&Only Aesthesis, which marked the rebirth of the historic Asteria in Glyfada and has been in operation since last October. It is worth noting that the complex covers a total area of 278,000 square meters in a protected forest area, with a coastline of 2.2 kilometers. One&Only Aesthesis has a capacity of 127 keys and 14 private residences, and will operate all year round. It bears the Sustainable SITES and LEED Silver certification, guaranteeing sustainability and respect for the environment.
Also on the list is the much-discussed 91 Athens Riviera, which essentially represents the ambitious Glamping project of the A’ beach of Voula. For the latter, the countdown has already begun for the start of operation, which, according to the schedule, is set for June 10. Through the Domes Resort platform, which has taken over the management of the project, there is already the possibility of reservations for the accommodations that make up the project. This is a significant project of Grivalia Hospitality, which the company is preparing on an area of 45 acres and will include 28 luxury tents. The redevelopment of the area includes, in addition to the camping, a restaurant, a cafe, a children’s play area, a relaxation area with a library, a shop, a cinema, a gym, a rejuvenation center, sports fields, and an extensive network of sidewalks and bike paths with dense vegetation and outdoor seating, offering an oasis on the coastline of Attica.
At the same time, the investment of the Grecotel group is also noteworthy, as it puts the Vouliagmeni area on its map, in an effort to strengthen its presence in the southern suburbs. The area is expected to be included in the plan for the renovation of older hotel units, which is currently underway for Grecotel. This time, it comes to reshape the Vouliagmenis Suites located next to Lake Vouliagmeni, creating the Roc Club, which is expected to start operating in May. According to the design, it will be a boutique hotel consisting of 35 rooms and suites, a pool, and a panoramic view of the sea and the wider area. On the top floor, there will be a terrace where guests can enjoy their breakfast. It is worth noting that at this time, Grecotel is also renovating Cape Sounio, which is expected to open in May. The renovation involves the creation of new villas and bungalows, five restaurants, and other supporting facilities.
In Piraeus, the tourist landscape is also changing with the emergence of new investments. Among them is the luxurious Marina Zeas, which is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in the near future. The project includes the construction of a high-end hotel, luxury residences, and a marina that can accommodate large yachts. The aim is to transform the area into a high-end destination that will attract both domestic and international visitors.
Overall, the Athenian Riviera and Piraeus are undergoing a transformation with the introduction of new luxury resorts, marinas, and renovated beaches. These investments are set to elevate the tourism experience in the region, offering high-end services and accommodations to cater to the growing demand for luxury travel. With these new developments, the coastal areas of Athens are poised to become premier destinations for both domestic and international tourists seeking a luxurious and unique experience.
